Baljeet Purewal, M.D. is an Oculoplastic Surgeon in New Jersey at the Eye Care & Surgery Center where she specializes in Cosmetic Eye Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Purewal earned her Medical Degree from the State University of New York (SUNY)-Downstate College of Medicine in New York City and completed a Residency in Ophthalmology at the SUNY Downstate Medical Center followed by a Fellowship in Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the New York Eye & Ear Infirmary in Manhattan. Dr. Purewal holds the academic appointment of Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at SUNY Downstate Medical Center where she has trained residents and fellows in ophthalmic plastic surgery.
Dr. Purewal has an extensive background and expertise in treating patients with eyelid malpositions, orbitofacial trauma, periocular and orbital tumors, symptoms of tearing and nasolacrimal duct disorders. Further, Dr. Purewal is a specialist in the cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the face, eyelids and structures around the eyes. She performs cosmetic eye plastic surgery including "eye lifts" or blepharoplasty to help patients with puffy, baggy or tired looking eyelids as well as brow lifts and reconstructive eye plastic surgery procedures for eyelid drooping, or ptosis, and skin cancers around the eye. In addition she is experienced in the reconstruction of the bony structures around the eye.
